MSL Joins DOT University Transportation Center (UTC) for Climate-Smart Transportation
MSL joins the US Department of Transportation University Transportation Center (UTC) Center for Climate-Smart Transportation (CCST) led by Johns Hopkins University in partnership with MIT, UT Austin, U. of Utah, Morgan State, and Dine College. With $10M funding from U.S. Department of Transportation, CCST focuses on transportation solutions for preserving the environment.
NSF-EFRI: Brain-inspired Algorithms for Autonomous Robots
Profs. Wang, Hayhoe, Wei, and Zhu recently received an NSF Emerging Frontiers in Research and Innovation (EFRI) award “Brain-inspired Algorithms for Autonomous Robots (BAAR)”. This cross-disciplinary project is a collaboration among four disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Neuroscience, and Psychology. With over $2M from NSF, the research aims to develop novel AI algorithms with principles of neurobiological learning and insights into brain intelligence for autonomous robots such as self-driving vehicles and household collaborative robots. UT Austin Successfully Hosted First IEEE Automated Vehicle Validation Conference
Prof. Wang served as the General Chair of the 2023 (inaugural) IEEE International Automated Vehicle Validation Conference (IEEE-IACCV 2023) that was held on UT Austin Pickle Research Campus, Oct. 16-18. The conference brought experts, innovators, and enthusiasts in the field of automated vehicles from academia, industry, and government in 14 countries around the world to exchange ideas and facilitate collaborations.
