Dr. Kowalski-Muegge discusses her journey as a researcher, initiated in HIV research and continuing in cancer research. She relates genomics in medicine to a puzzle with a blank cover and how insights from molecular tumor profiling help to shape and uncover a hidden image.

Professor Kowalski-Muegge led the development of a concept for computationally relating all the data components contained in a clinical-grade sequencing report used for treatment discussions to uncover patterns that shed light on actionable insights. This initial design concept spurred the development of the W3 (Whole-Data, Whole-Profile for Whole-Patient Care) application.
