Humanity in Action

A note from Dr. Carver:

Ryan Gayman, a Senior Fellow with Humanity In Action (see below) will be on campus on Monday, December 17 and would very much like to talk with students about the Humanity In Action Fellowship.  He will be available on that Monday, 2:00 to 3:00 pm in the Conference Room, Fourth Floor of Gebauer, for a group meeting, and he will be happy to meet with individual students after that, 3:00 to 5:00 pm.  This is a terrific program, and I hope many of you will be interested in applying, if not this year, then next.  Note well:  the deadline for the 2013 application is January 10th.

Humanity in Action is now accepting applications for its international human rights fellowship programs in Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, Lyon and Warsaw.
The Humanity in Action Fellowship brings together international groups of students to study human rights and to produce research exploring how and why individuals and societies resist intolerance and stand up for democratic values.  Humanity in Action invites applications from talented college students and recent graduates who are intellectually gifted, mature, independent and passionate about human rights and social justice.  Current sophomores, juniors, and seniors and graduates from the undergraduate classes of 2011 and 2012 are eligible to apply.

The fellowship will begin in Washington, DC on May 27, 2013 at the Council on Foreign Relations and subsequently take place in Europe from June 1 to June 30, 2013.  Humanity in Action covers all costs associated with participation.   The application deadline is January 10, 2013.  Learn more at www.humanityinaction.org/apply.
