The Texas Orator is a multi-partisan, peer-reviewed publication that is registered as part of the Associated Collegiate Press. We value thorough analysis in our articles and strive to protect the ideals of free speech and unhindered access to information on campus and nationwide. We seek to keep the student body informed of the implications of ever-changing political climates, both domestically and abroad, from a range of voices and perspectives. We have been indexed as scholarly literature by the UT Libraries and by UT Undergraduate Studies.
We are accepting applications for new members for the Fall 2026 semester. We have available positions in all roles including editors, writers, artists, photographers, and more. If you are interested in expressing your opinions to the student body, reporting on current events, or starting necessary discussions among your peers, we are excited to receive your application! The most important attribute of The Texas Orator is our team’s absolute commitment to thoughtful and provocative analysis. We are looking for members who love politics and political philosophy, but who, above all, desire to nurture an open-minded community of thinkers. Desirable applicants seek first to understand, and then to be understood. We want individuals who are passionate not about convincing others of their views, but about transforming and reshaping themselves and their own perspectives each day.
