Maisey Schuler is a research assistant in the Melamed Lab. She earned her B.S. in Evolutionary Anthropology with a minor in Music from the University of Michigan. During her undergraduate studies, Maisey studied how environmental factors influence bone acquisition and body composition throughout the lifespan. Prior to joining Melamed lab, Maisey worked on an epilepsy monitoring hospital unit at St. David’s North Austin Medical Center.
In the Melamed lab, Maisey is currently participating in a collaborative COVID-19 project to understand immune and autoimmune signatures in COVID-19. Broadly, her research interests include health humanities, social determinants of health, evolutionary medicine, autoimmunity and chronic illness. She is also working on her master’s degree in Humanities, Health, and Medicine at the University of Texas
