Video: Fellow looks into never-made Selznick film of Hersey’s The Wall

Jeremy Treglown is a Senior Research Fellow of the Institute of English Studies at the University of London.  He has visited the Ransom Center on multiple occasions, including time spent researching Roald Dahl.

Treglown is researching a book about the career of John Hersey (1914-93), author of Hiroshima and The Wall, among many other works. The Wall (1950) is the first US novel about the Shoah and was to have been made into a film by David O. Selznick.  The Hersey-related archives which Treglown worked on at the Ransom Center included the Selznick records of this never-completed project.

The Dorot Foundation Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Jewish Studies provided support for Treglown’s research. Learn more about fellowships at the Ransom Center.
