Mayo Clinic invites students who have completed their junior year of a four-year accredited baccalaureate program in nursing to apply for their Summer III program.
This 10 week employment experience gives student nurses an opportunity to expand nursing knowledge and critical thinking skills while working in direct patient care alongside nursing professionals. Summer III’s also have the opportunity to live, socialize, and work with other nursing students from across the nation.
To participate in the Summer III externship, candidates must have:
- completed the junior year of a four-year accredited baccalaureate program in nursing, including completion of 2 semesters or 3 quarters of clinical nursing experience
- have a satisfactory academic record
- Basic Cardiac Life Support for Healthcare Providers- BCLS – certificate of course completion which must not expire before August 2016.
