Job Opening: Nurse Practitioner – PMHNP-BC

Family Psychiatry of The Woodlands is seeking a licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, board certified (PMHNP-BC), to join its expanding team of mental health professionals. The role involves documenting patients’ medical histories, conducting examinations, administering diagnostic tests, and developing individualized care plans. Responsibilities also include delivering treatment and monitoring patient progress over time.

Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities:

• Performing exams and patient observations.
• Recording patients’ medical histories and symptoms.
• Creating patient care plans and contributing to existing ones.
• Ordering, and analyzing diagnostic tests.
• Diagnosing mental health issues, medication management
• Detecting changes in patients’ health and modifying treatment plans, as needed.
• Consulting with supervising physician, healthcare professionals and families.
• Training patients and their families to manage and prevent illness and injury.
• Work with your liaison to answer patient/pharmacy inquiries

Nurse Practitioner Requirements:

• Masters degree from an accredited nursing program.
• RN licensure in Texas or a compact party state and board-certified by either ANCC or AANP.
• PMHNP board-certified
• APN authorization in the state of Texas employed to practice in family health by the Board of Nurse Examiners.
• Prescriptive authorization and DEA
• Knowledge of mental health evaluations, diagnosing and medications
• Proficiency with medical instruments and equipment required to perform your work.
• Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems, as well as medical records and point-of-interview technology.
• A sound understanding of all pertinent federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of mental health education.
• 40hr work week
