Job Summary
To provide the best care possible to our elderly Residents, always ensuring their dignity and promoting as much independence as possible. We provide extensive training for all our Caregivers to ensure each Resident receives the highest level of quality care possible.
Qualifications
- Must complete training program and demonstrate competency.
- Have a compassionate attitude toward the care of the elderly.
- Ability to carry out directions, read and write English.
- Maturity and the ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities
-Assist Residents with personal hygiene; including showers, bed baths, oral care, hair and skin care.
-Assist Residents in the use of toilet facilities, including bed pans.
-Assist Residents in and out of bed, excluding the use of mechanical lifting equipment unless trained and documented as competent.
-Assist Residents with walking, including the use of walkers and wheelchairs, when applicable.
-Assist Residents with self-administration of medications.
-Meal preparation and feeding, when required.
-Assist with prescribed exercises when the Resident and the Caregiver have been instructed by the appropriate health professional.
-Record and report changes in the Resident’s physical condition, behavior or appearance to supervisor or Administrator.
-Documenting care delivered in accordance with Silverleaf Eldercare policies and procedures.
