PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Child and Family Research Partnership (CFRP) is a policy research group at the LBJ School of Public Affairs under the direction of Dr. Cynthia Osborne. CFRP partners with state agencies and large non-profit organizations to provide rigorous research and program evaluation to enhance public policy in areas including family supports, early childhood investments, fatherhood, child welfare, and adolescent health. Undergraduate Research Assistant (Summer 2019)
Undergraduate Research Assistants will get hands-on research experience and exposure to CFRP’s work, with a focus on supporting data collection across multiple projects.
Specifically, Undergraduate Research Assistants will:
- Enter survey data in Qualtrics and using Remark software
- Conduct data quality assurance checks
- Follow project data collection plans and processes
- Gain exposure to program evaluation working closely with experienced researchers
- Gain exposure to Qualtrics, Remark, and Stata
- Assist with special events/meetings
- Other tasks and support as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- UT undergraduate, junior or senior in the 2019-2020 school year
- Major in related field (e.g. government, human development, psychology)
- Strict attention to detail
- Independent and reliable worker with strong work ethic
- Strong organizational skills
- Exceptional time management skills
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Represent CFRP professionally (e.g. tone, attire, language, promptness, etc.) in all communications and meetings
- Must be intellectually curious and independently motivated
- Spanish fluency a plus
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Summer 2019 appointment: June 1, 2019 – August 31, 2019
- Rate: $10-$15/hour, depending on qualifications
- Hours: 10-20 hours per week (actual weekly hours may fluctuate based on the volume of surveys being conducted)
- All work is onsite at CFRP/LBJ School of Public Affairs
- Potential to continue in subsequent semesters, depending on quality of work and funding
- Not benefits eligible.
