UT – School of Nursing is currently seeking volunteers to participate in Simulated Hospital Clinical Day (SHCD).
As a volunteer, you will interact with the students during the simulation activity by portraying a family member or friend (visitor). Volunteers will receive a brief orientation and guide sheet, upon arrival, that includes a description of the patient and your role in the scenario before being introduced to the instructor and students.
When: Monday, November 18th & Tuesday, November 19th.
Time: 9:00am – 11:30am & 12:45pm – 3:15pm (both days)
Where: Orientation – room 4.102 (4th floor)
If you are interested in volunteering your time please sign up here: https://signup.com/go/unfoHGa
Your participation will increase the realism of the simulation activity for the students by providing them with the opportunity to practice their critical thinking, therapeutic communication, and professional demeanor with a family member or friend of the patient present at the bedside.
Other student visitors may drop in during the activity, such as a Social Worker, Doctor or Advanced Practice Nurse.
*There are two shifts available each day. The simulation will take place in the Simulation and Skills Center on the 4th floor.*
*Signs in the elevators and the 4th floor will direct you to the room where a Volunteer Coordinator will help you check in.*
