The focus of the program is to prepare and match the internship candidate with a nursing unit. The goal is to immerse candidates in Texas Health Dallas Nursing Culture and to reduce training time and expedite independence. General Program Information The Nurse Intern Program at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas includes six weeks of clinical rotations in various inpatient medical surgical, intermediate, and specialty units where participants work closely with a RN preceptor. With staff support, interns receive individualized training to enhance their knowledge and prepare them for hands-on experiences. Rotations take place at Texas Health Dallas. Weekly Lunch & Learn sessions occur where important topics related to nursing care are discussed in an interactive and innovative way. Seven weeks paid internship 24-36 hours per week Weekly Lunch & Learn sessions Upon completion of the program, nurse externs in their last semester of nursing school have the opportunity to be among the first candidates to interview for a full-time, paid position as a Texas Health Dallas graduate nurse resident. Eligibility Enrollment and good standing in an accredited nursing program Must have completed 2 semesters of nursing school Available from June 2nd – July 2th (June 30th – July 6 off week) Must be authorized to work in the United States Benefits of Working at Texas Health Dallas Nurse Interns are required to work 24-36 hours a week during the program. After program completion, the intern has the opportunity to work PRN with a specific nursing unit.
