Since 1938, the College of Fine Arts has been preparing artists, actors, dancers and musicians to teach in Texas schools and schools across the nation. Our contemporary teacher preparation program focuses on community engagement, culturally responsive pedagogy, and technology.

As a prospective fine arts teacher, you will find that our program provides valuable real-world, early teaching experience in many settings. Ensure your success with UTeach Art, UTeach Dance,  UTeach Music or UTeach Theatre in a teacher preparation program that will prepare you for the classroom and to take the certification exams TEA requires, leading to Texas Teacher Certification. UTeach Fine Arts graduates’ exam passing rates for these tests typically exceed 98%.
