Our recent Student Teacher & Field Supervisor Dinner was a wonderful celebration of collaboration, mentorship, and growth. On December 11, 2024, University Field Supervisors and incoming student teachers met over tacos to discuss their upcoming student teaching semester.
Earlier in the evening, University Field Supervisors in Dance, Music, Art and Theatre met for Field Supervision training to share best practices and learn more about the updates on the certification expectations from the Texas Education Agency.
Following the training, student teachers were welcomed to the gathering with their official name badges and UTeach swag. Student teachers across UTeach Dance, Music, Art, and Theatre got the opportunity to connect with each other and share their excitement for their upcoming adventure into teaching. Students then met with their Field Supervisors, asked questions, and discussed expectations.
To round out the evening, our Student Teachers shopped until they dropped at the UTeach Clothing Drive. Faculty and staff from the College of Fine Arts donated gently used, business-casual clothing to help our teachers round out their wardrobe before they head off into the classroom. Our students greatly appreciated it and were excited to have one less thing to worry about before their student teaching semester begins.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this evening so memorable. We are proud to celebrate the dedication and passion from everyone involved that makes
our student-teaching program extraordinary! Hook ’em!
