Teacher Education Programs in the College of Fine Arts
UTeach Fine Arts UFASAC members participated in the 2024 Del Valle Fine Arts Fest on April 20th, 2024. These students took part in a panel that educated students, parents, and community members on what it is like to be part of the UTFA program at UT Austin. Students shared their experiences as college students and future fine arts educators. The fest also included music, art, dance performances, a live art show, crafts and activities.
Our third Spring event, the UTFA Resource Fair, was held on March 21, 2024. This event featured various presentations by current UTeach Fine Arts students, including graduate, fourth-year and first-year students. They shared their newest, most engaged teaching practices, their current work with their students, and the work they have developed in their fine arts courses.
On February 26th, 2024, we had a panel of seven former UTeach Fine Arts students participate in the New Arts Education Teacher panel. This event created a space for current and future educators to come together and learn. Our audience was engaged, asked questions, and received great advice from our panel. We sincerely thank panelists AJ Marks, Carly Bannister, Indya McKnight, Raina Michalovic, Sabrina Ellis, Sarah Uy, and Varsha Nathan.
