Our group’s demonstration of high operating temperature (HOT, 230K) long wave infrared detectors published in Applied Physics Letters. Led by former student Leland Nordin, with Aaron Muhowski, this work shows that our plasmonic detectors, by careful co-design of electrical and optical response can be pushed to temperatures where they can operate efficiently with thermoelectric cooling.
