Our latest work, “Guided mode slot resonators” published today in Applied Physics Letters. Led by UT Mid-IR PhD students Noah Mansfield and Alexander Ware, with a host of other group members, and collaborators from UIUC and AFRL. We show high Q resonator structures capale of strong field enhancement in air-gaps patterned into resonant structures.
