Texas Undergraduate Leadership Program

Applications are now being accepted for the Texas Undergraduate Leadership Program at the Center for Women’s and Gender Studies at UT Austin. Female students from any major on campus who will be sophomores this fall are encouraged to apply. The deadline is August 2, 2010.

The Texas Undergraduate Leadership Program is a rigorous, three-year interdisciplinary program designed to inspire and support undergraduate students in the classroom, on campus, and in community leadership roles. The program empowers young women undergraduates to become leaders so that they will achieve the highest levels of attainment in their chosen fields and inspires and supports students in the classroom, on campus, and in community leadership roles.  The students will develop skills in critical thinking, public presentation, group motivation, and negotiation in diverse social settings.  The program offers young women opportunities to build leadership skills though the experiences of successful female mentors, engaging in community service opportunities, and working with other young women in environments that foster support and diverse, interdisciplinary perspectives.
