Fred Wins Two Awards

Fred was selected as a recipient for the 7th Annual Best Paper Award for his ACS Nano paper “Magnetically Actuated Dynamic Iridescence Inspired by the Neon Tetra” by the Analytical Instrumentation Facilities (AIF) at NC State.

He also won the “Most Exciting Interdisciplinary Work Award” for his work on manufacturing the high-aspect-ratio magnetically tunable nanopillar array in the ASME Society-Wide Micro/Nano Technology Forum at the 2019 IMECE.

Congratulations (x2)!

Chang Group at IMECE 2019

Chang Group attends the International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition (IMECE) in Salt Lake City, UT. Dr. Chang helped organized and chair a session on Nanomanufacturing, I-Te presented an oral presentation on assembly of non-monodispersed colloidal particles, Fred presented an oral presentation on dynamically tunable PDMS nanostructures, and Andy presented an oral presentation on fabrication of sapphire nanostructures. Congratulations everybody!

Fred and Andy Win Micrograph Contest at EIPBN 2019

Fred won the Most Bizzare Micrograph entitled “Merlot by the Femotoliter” at the 63rd International Conference on Electron, Ion, and Photon Beam Technology and Nanofabrication in Minneapolis, MN. Fred and Andy also won the Honorable Mention for their micrographs in this annual competition. Congratulations!

Chang Group at EIPBN 2019

Chang Group attends the 63nd International Conference on Electron, Ion, and Photon Beam Technology and Nanofabrication (EIPBN) in Minneapolis, MN. I-Te presented an oral presentation on multilayer processing of 3D nanostructures, and Fred, Andy, Saurav, and Shubhro each presented their posters on magnetically tunable optics, sapphire nanostructures, aligned assembly of Ag nanowire, and immersion interference lithography of hexagonal nanostructures, respectively. Timothy also presented a talk on modeling of non-monodispersed nanoparticles, a great achievement as an undergraduate student. Congratulations everybody!

Chang Group at IMECE 2018

Chang Group attends the 2018 International Mechanical Engineering Congress & Exposition (IMECE) in Pittsburgh. Fred presented a talk on dynamic coloration of magnetic nanostructures, I-Te presented a talk on the repeatability and uniformity of roll-to-roll 3D nanolithography, and Andy presented a talk on enhancing optical transmission of multilayer composite material with nanostructure interfaces. Dr Chang organized and chaired a session on Nanomanufacturing.
