Professional Development Travel Fund Professional Development Travel Fund COFA Career Services is pleased to offer financial support to qualifying students who need assistance funding travel to aid their professional development in the arts. Guidelines and Eligibility The Professional Development Travel Fund (PDTF) provides qualifying students with a $500 award to aid in funding travel for professional development opportunities. Applicant must be an undergraduate or graduate student with a major in COFA. Applicants may earn funding from PDTF only once during their time at UT. Travel qualifying for funding includes, but is not limited to: Conference attendance Masterclasses or intensives Auditions/interviews Research Networking trips We encourage students to apply for funding associated with individualized experiences that support their professional development in the arts. Funds may NOT be used for: Books, journal subscriptions, tapes, CDs or DVDs Copying charges and application preparation costs Tuition and fees to any institution for course credit Computers or computer peripherals Deadlines September 15 (for travel dates that begin between September 16 and February 1) February 1 (for travel dates that begin between February 2 and May 15) May 15 (for travel dates that begin between May 16 and September 15) The COFA Career Services team will respond to all applicants within two weeks of application deadlines. If awarded funding, UT typically will disburse funding to students within a month of the application deadline. Depending on each student’s financial institution, additional processing time will occur before the funds reach bank accounts. Application Details PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAVEL FUND APPLICATION As part of the application, students will be asked to: Upload an updated resume Upload a completed budget form (template also linked in application) Attach a confirmation of your attendance at event for which you’re applying for funding Write a statement of how attendance at event will aid in your professional development in the arts
