West Texas Summer Internship Fund

COFA Career Services is pleased to offer financial support to qualifying students who are completing arts-related summer internships in West Texas.

Guidelines

Every summer, COFA Career Services awards $3500 to two undergraduate or graduate students in the College of Fine Arts who are completing an arts internship experience in West Texas. Students must already have an internship offer in West Texas to be eligible. This includes Midland and anything to the west of it.

By submitting the application, you are eligible for a $3500 award from the College of Fine Arts to supplement funding for an arts-related internship in West Texas.

We encourage students to apply for funding associated with individualized experiences that support their professional development in the arts.

Funds may NOT be used for:

  • Books, journal subscriptions, tapes, CDs or DVDs
  • Copying charges and application preparation costs
  • Tuition and fees to any institution for course credit
  • Computers or computer peripherals

The West Texas Summer Internship Fund will be awarded as a scholarship, to be included in your financial aid (if applicable). Students may earn funding from the West Texas Summer Internship Fund once during their time at UT. Applications will be reviewed annually* on May 15. Applications will be reviewed by a team of staff members at the College of Fine Arts, and the team will respond within two weeks of proposal deadline.

*Funding expected to continue through summer 2026.

Deadline: May 15

The COFA Career Services team will respond to all applicants within two weeks of application deadlines. If awarded funding, UT typically will disburse funding to students within a month of the application deadline. Depending on each student’s financial institution, additional processing time will occur before the funds reach bank accounts.
