Working at the interface of RNA biology and protein engineering
Our research is focused on the manipulation of RNA regulatory systems to engineer more robust cellular phenotypes that can better withstand natural environmental stresses for medical and biotechnological applications. One of our major inspirations is to understand how extremophile organisms adapt to extreme stresses.
Available Positions
We encourage applications from highly motivated graduate students and from undergraduate students that are committed to research. Interested applicants should contact Dr. Contreras by email.
