The Comparative Constitutions Project was launched in 2005 to explore the origins and consequences of constitutional choices. It produces comprehensive data about the world’s constitutions, tracking the characteristics of written constitutions for independent states dating back to 1789. CCP indexes the topics in constitutional texts on Constitute as a resource for constitution drafters and citizens.

International IDEA is an intergovernmental organization devoted to strengthening democratic institutions and processes worldwide. It also addresses gender equality and inclusion and conflict and security as they relate to democracy.

LLILAS’ mission is to lead the advancement of Latin American Studies at UT Austin by creating spaces for diverse methodologies and collaborations across disciplines, and connecting national and transnational communities of learning, and to strengthen ties between Latin America/the Caribbean and the rest of the world, highlighting the region’s relevance to both local and global concerns.

Through advocacy, campaigning, and research, it works to expose the systems and networks that enable corruption to thrive, demanding greater transparency and integrity in all areas of public life.

The UT Government Department offers a nationally acclaimed program of teaching and research in political science. As one of the liberal arts, Government teaches students how to think and communicate about politics: dissect and evaluate courses of political action, set them in historical and comparative perspective, and relate them to ends that are prized or feared.
