Improving diabetes management by integrating interventions for depression with supported self-management.

  • Population: FQHC clinic patients with limited resources & unmanaged diabetes (A1C>8.0)
  • Partners: Lone Star Circle of Care
  • Location: Austin, TX
  • Question: Can an empathetic telehealth program support those with unmanaged diabetes & help them achieve better A1C control?
  • Components: Health callers
  • Outcomes: Hemoglobin A1C, Mental Health
  • Time Period (first results): 6 months
  • Results: Randomized trial in progress; 210 recruited (1/23)
