We are a civil association that seeks the welfare and development of the community of Cerro de la Campana, through the union of efforts and wills of all sectors of the society of Nuevo León, Mexico.
“ConTex is a joint initiative of the University of Texas System and Mexico’s National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT). Established in 2016, ConTex supports bilateral efforts to enhance academic and research cooperation between Texas and Mexico. ConTex represents a long-term commitment to expand cross-border partnerships and create opportunities to share knowledge relevant to issues of common interest to the United States and Mexico.
ConTex gives researchers the opportunity to make new discoveries and scientific breakthroughs, offers students a chance to use their knowledge and skills in a real-world environment, and offer outstanding preparation for entering the global workforce.

The University of Texas at Austin course: Bridging Academia and Practice in Participatory Action Research
The University of Texas research team tests the proposition that human-centric design thinking can offer a more potent approach to addressing urban connectivity issues than expert-led design. We begin by choosing a dense urban area in Mexico in which the juxtaposition of opposites belies connectivity. We apply dynamic systems thinking to identify patterns (fractals) of causality present in previous connectivity initiatives. Drawing on this data set of enhancing and retarding patterns, we engage stakeholders in making sense of these patterns: i.e. collaborative learning from the past. We then engage stakeholders in identifying, co-designing, and iteratively prototyping what is needed and emergent regarding connectivity: i.e. collaborative action going forward, learning from doing, together. The result is the foundation for a new scalable template for governance and civic engagement, created locally by local actors for local conditions, to enhance connectivity on multiple dimensions.
