Max Weed a first year neuroscience PhD student in the lab, and he received his BS in Neuroscience from the University of Cincinnati. He is currently studying how alcohol impacts excitatory and inhibitory signaling in the central nervous system and immune system. He uses molecular biology and immunology techniques like immunohistochemistry and confocal microscopy to analyze tissue from those systems via mouse models. He is also interested in studying environmental factors like heat sensitivity and the gut microbiome that impact autoimmunity and neurological conditions such as MS and PASC.
