Adriana is a Microbiology PhD student in the Melamed Lab. She earned her DVM from the Federal University of Pelotas (Brazil) and her master’s degree in Veterinary Sciences from the University of Passo Fundo (Brazil), where she utilized WGS to predict AMR and virulence factors in Salmonella Heidelberg recovered from chicken carcasses. Currently, her research interests revolve around the role of gut microbiota in multiple sclerosis. In her free time, Adriana enjoys cooking, traveling, and exploring new places with her husband. As a true southern Brazilian, she will never say no to a good barbecue while sitting down for a yerba mate sharing circle with her family and friends.
