In order to become an active member or attain active status, you must be UTMRC members who are registered with us through the Texas Disaster Volunteer Registry (TDVR). Volunteer Recruitment &
Ambassador Group
- Speak at various organizations.
- Assist in tabling events.
- Create new member recruitment material to be presented at events.
Volunteer Opportunity
Outreach Group
- Help match members to volunteer opportunities that arise.
- Connect the UTMRC with new volunteer opportunities.
Event Planning
Support Group
- Provide feedback and assistance with structuring events to improve the outcome.
- Help coordinate training instructors.
- Track RSVPs for each events.
New Trainings
Development Group
- Assist with the development of new trainings.
- Guide available assistant instructors in training members.
- Suggest new trainings based on member feedback.
Newsletter Creation
Support Group
- Derive creative ideas and themes for quarterly newsletters.
- Collect “Volunteer Highlight” stories of volunteer experiences.
- Suggest “Volunteer of the Month” for monthly newsletter.
Training Instructors
Support Group
- Attend at least one of our training events to get certified.
- Help train in at least one training event.
- Support available assistant instructors to aid us in training other members.
Public Relations
Support Group
- Represent UTMRC and speak at external events.
- Inform and increase awareness of UTMRC’s vision and mission.
Grant Writing

- Assist in grant writing with UTMRC Unit Coordinators to be presented.
