The spring semester is the concert band season for Longhorn Band members. Conducted by the Longhorn Band Directors and Graduate Teaching Assistants, the Longhorn Concert Ensembles meet in the Spring semester and perform two concerts. All students in LHB are required to participate during the spring semester. Musicians not part of LHB are highly encouraged and welcome to audition for performance opportunities during the spring.

  • Longhorn Pep Band does NOT meet the LHB Spring concert ensemble requirement (see approved courses below).
  • Music majors in LHB will receive credit for fulfilling this requirement through their large ensemble (Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Wind Symphony, and Symphony Band) participation in the spring.
  • Percussion students are required to play in a concert ensemble or Jazz Band and have the option to participate in Percussion Ensemble as an additional ensemble. (Rehearsal time to be split between the two ensembles)

Spring 2024 audition materials are now available for Longhorn Concert Bands!
