Andy Defends PhD Thesis

Andy has successfully defended his PhD thesis work on “Antireflection Nanostructures at Material Interfaces for Enhancement of Optical Properties.” Special thanks to Andy’s Doctoral Committee members Adela Ben-Yakar, Daniel Wasserman, and SV Sreenivasan. Congratulations Dr Chen!

Chang Group at EIPBN 2021 (Virtually)

Chang Group attends the 64th International Conference on Electron, Ion, and Photon Beam Technology and Nanofabrication (EIPBN) held virtually. I-Te presented a talk on non-uniform nano lattice structures and Kun-Chieh presented a talk on data-driven optical metrology of nanostructure etching, and Fred, Andy, and Saurav each presented their posters on magnetically tunable structure, sapphire nanostructures, and assembly of non-monodispersed nanoparticles. Congratulations everybody!

Fred Defends PhD Thesis

Fred has successfully defended his PhD thesis work on “Magnetically Responsive Dynamic Nanostructures.” Special thanks to Fred’s Doctoral Committee members Edward Yu, Yuebing Zheng, and SV Sreenivasan. Congratulations Dr Luo!

Chang Group Moves to UT Austin

The Nanostructures and Nanomanufacturing Laboratory (NNL) has moved to the Walker Department of Mechanical Engineering at University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin). Hook ’em!

We would like to thank all the faculty, staff, and students at NC State for their support and friendship over the last 8 years. It has been a pleasure. Go Pack!

Fred Wins Two Awards

Fred was selected as a recipient for the 7th Annual Best Paper Award for his ACS Nano paper “Magnetically Actuated Dynamic Iridescence Inspired by the Neon Tetra” by the Analytical Instrumentation Facilities (AIF) at NC State.

He also won the “Most Exciting Interdisciplinary Work Award” for his work on manufacturing the high-aspect-ratio magnetically tunable nanopillar array in the ASME Society-Wide Micro/Nano Technology Forum at the 2019 IMECE.

Congratulations (x2)!

Chang Group at IMECE 2019

Chang Group attends the International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition (IMECE) in Salt Lake City, UT. Dr. Chang helped organized and chair a session on Nanomanufacturing, I-Te presented an oral presentation on assembly of non-monodispersed colloidal particles, Fred presented an oral presentation on dynamically tunable PDMS nanostructures, and Andy presented an oral presentation on fabrication of sapphire nanostructures. Congratulations everybody!
