In the Media

2022

December

Our lab was featured in a KXAN article that talks about bilingualism as a superpower! Read about it here!

July

Check out Dr. Arredondo as she talks about language acquisition between monolingual and bilingual children on PBS Otherwords!

2021

Our research was highlighted in the Wall Street Journal! Interested in reading it? Click here to see how bilingualism and neural connections are related.

2020

We recently received a grant award for our pilot study!

This 2020 SRCD Small Grant for Early Career Scholars will support our project investigating whether Spanish-English bilingual toddlers’ ability to acquire new words differs by the language (i.e., English vs. Spanish) used during testing, and whether it depends on the amount of language that they are exposed to at home.

Watch Dr. Arredondo’s livestream titled ¿Cómo ayudo a mi hijo bilingüe mientras estamos en casa? Rompiendo los mitos del bilingüismo. She talks about how bilingual children develop their languages, and what Spanish-speaking parents can do to help their bilingual children enrich their languages during the pandemic.

Interested in Dr. Arredondo’s new collaboration in a podcast titled Padres Con Voz? Check out their twitter and main website for their advice in raising bilingual children.
