Sivasakthya Mohan | President
Siva (Sivasakthya) Mohan is a fourth-year graduate student in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. She is working on understanding the mechanics of 2D material interfaces for large area transfer processes. This is her fourth year with GEC, and she served on the GAIN committee for two years, was the GEC Financial Director in 2019 and GEC Secretary in 2020. Outside of school, she is an Indian classical dancer and enjoys cooking.
Akhilesh Paspureddi | Vice-President
Akhilesh is a fourth-year graduate student in the Department of Chemical Engineering. He works with Dr. Mukul Sharma and Dr. Lynn Katz and researches on modeling diverse phenomena pertaining to water purification and energy storage. He served as one of the Co-Directors for GAIN 2019 and served as the Director for Seminar Series for GEC in 2020. In his free time, he loves to go for a drive, play cricket, explore good food places, and binge-watch, and binge-eat.
Hamzah Khan | Secretary
Hamzah Khan is a first-year Aerospace Engineering Ph.D. student working with Dr. David Fridovich-Keil on multi-agent robotics and control. In his free time, he enjoys strategy games, reading all varieties of books, and traveling. As a new Longhorn, he looks forward to getting to know others at UT Austin, so don’t be a stranger!
Jaeseong Lee | Financial Director
Julia M Lamb | President Emeritus
Julia is a fourth-year Chemical Engineering Ph.D. student working in the Manthiram battery lab on sodium-ion batteries. She served as a GAIN co-director for GAIN 2019 and served as GEC secretary for two years from 2018. In her free time, Julia enjoys blues and swing dancing and playing games of all types.
Pavana Siddhartha Kollipara | Vice-President Emeritus
Pavana is a fourth-year graduate student in the Walker Department of Mechanical Engineering. He works with Dr. Yuebing Zheng and researches on modeling diverse phenomena pertaining to light-matter, thermal and fluidic interactions at micro/nanoscale. He served as one of the Activities Chair for GEC for 2019-20. In his free time, he loves to go for a drive, play racquetball, explore good food places, and occasionally, binge-watch, and binge-eat.
Enakshi Wikramanayake | Mechanical Engineering Representative & President Emerita
Enakshi is a Ph.D. student in Mechanical Engineering. Her research is in thermal fluids systems, applying it to power generation and water and thermal management. Enakshi was a director of GAIN (Graduate And Industry Networking) 2017, an event where graduate students network with corporate representatives and showcase their research. Enakshi is still very involved with GEC. She hopes to develop new academic and outreach projects through GEC and increase graduate student involvement and participation in all GEC events.
Philip White | Vice President Emeritus
Philip White is a fourth-year, PhD Student. His research concerns how Texans use electricity and what improvements can be made to improve/economize consumption. Philip still helps out with GEC by planning and prepping GEC events. He hopes that his work in GEC will create a more fun, accessible, and beneficial atmosphere for graduate students in the Cockrell School of Engineering. In his free time, Philip can be found running around Hyde Park, rolling 20 sided dice with friends, reading a great book, or travelling.
