Spotlight: Chelsea Godfrey

Chelsea Godfrey

My name is Chelsea Godfrey and I’m a 4th year B.S.A Biochemistry pre-med student! I’m currently an HCMP intern and involved in other organizations such as Women in Medicine and Advocates for Cancer Awareness.

Describe a shadowing experience that has impacted you the most:

One shadowing experience that has impacted me the most was shadowing anesthesiologist, Dr. Pronske, and PEM fellow, Dr. Annabel Kramer. I learned so much about how crucial anesthesiologists are to making sure that everything goes smoothly before, during, and after surgery. I’m so grateful I was able to learn so much about this field of medicine.

How has HCMP benefited your professional or individual goals?

Overall, I feel like HCMP has definitely helped me confirm what I want to do in the future due to the number of specialties I was able to observe.

What has been your favorite aspect of HCMP?

While shadowing has been an amazing experience, my favorite aspect of HCMP is the community. It’s great to be among a group of wonderful, intelligent individuals who have similar goals to me and I always look forward to group events where we can spend time together.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I love to chill out and watch different Netflix shows and movies!
