Spotlight: Elias Nasser

My name is Elias Nasser and I am a sophomore Biochemistry and Humanities major. I am an intern with HCMP, and am also a medical scribe.

Describe a shadowing experience that has impacted you the most:

During my virtual shadowing rotation, I listened to the perspectives of doctors from specialties including but not limited to vascular surgery, radiology, and psychology. These sessions allowed me to explore the breadth of medicine that traditional shadowing doesn’t offer; like finding your own major in college, medicine has such a diverse range of professions that I learned to appreciate through each shadowing session.

How has HCMP benefited your professional or individual goals?

The community behind HCMP is both supportive and inspiring. We all share a common goal, with our own unique characters that make the organization special. HCMP holds a high standard of professionalism that I aspire to hold for myself, and having mentors through our directors been a pivotal aspect of my pre-med career.

What has been your favorite aspect of HCMP?

Without a doubt, my favorite aspect of HCMP is the environment. From day one you’re treated as if you’ve been in HCMP for years. Every person greets you with a smile, and invests their own time into ensuring sure that you make the most out of your experience as an intern.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Outside of HCMP, I love to write! I also try to stay active with IM sports when that was a thing (miss it now).
