My name is Baylee Cammack, and I am from Conroe, TX. I am a fourth year nutrition science major, and my interests include working to understand the role early childhood nutrition plays in future health outcomes, volunteering to judge and coach high school speech and debate, cooking, and working as a phlebotomist! My future plan is to become a physician!

My name is Charlotte Colbert, and I am from Houston. I am a fourth-year public health major at the University of Texas at Austin with an interest in epidemiology and preventive medicine. After graduating, I plan to pursue a master’s program here in Austin.

Fun Fact: I participate in the Longhorn Run every year.

Hi! My name is Avelyn, and I am from Colleyville, TX. I’m currently a senior at UT Austin, majoring in Psychology and Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. I am interested in infant nutrition/feeding practices and currently work on a project looking at baby-led weaning. After graduating, I hope to go to graduate school for nursing and later work in the NICU as a neonatal NP.

Fun Fact: I am a dog nanny to a sweet pug named Lily (shown above) and her brother Smokey!

Hi! My name is Julia, and I am from San Antonio, TX. I am currently a Junior Nutrition major, and hope to pursue a minor in American Sign Language. My research interests are very broad in the nutrition field, and I am still discovering what I am specifically interested in! I hope to become a registered dietitian and potentially continue research after my undergraduate degree.

My name is Miel Hagler-Shorr, and I’m from New York City. I’m majoring in health and society, and my academic interests include women’s health, maternal health, and medical humanities. After graduating from UT, I hope to attend medical school and pursue a career in medicine.

Hi! My name is Mariam Jallad, and I am a third-year Public Health major from Houston, Texas. I am interested in maternal and infant nutrition and generational nutrition patterns! After I graduate from UT, I plan on attending medical school (and hopefully pursue an MPH) to become a pediatrician.

Fun fact: I grew up in Canada and I can (almost) speak 5 languages!

Hi! I’m Tarini Jonnadula, and I’m from Frisco, Texas. My major is Public Health, and I am on the pre-med track. I’m interested in maternal health, specifically how a women’s nutrition varies throughout her pregnancy. I am also interested in infant health.

Fun fact: I once sprained my ankle after trying to roller skate in my kitchen.

My name is Srishti Kannan and I am a fourth year nutrition major from San Antonio, Texas! My interests lie in the intersection between maternal and childhood nutrition and how both go hand in hand. After graduating, my goal is to go to medical school and become a physician.

Fun fact: I love to do anything art related!

My name is Jayati Karre, and I am from Saint Louis, MO. I’m currently a junior at UT Austin, majoring in Public Health in the Health Science Scholars program. I have a keen interest in maternal and pediatric health and am excited to explore how upstream factors like nutrition play a critical role in shaping patient outcomes. After graduation I hope to go to Medical School and use my public health background to better serve patients as a culturally competent physician.

Hello, my name is Eden Lowry and I am from Cincinnati, OH. I am a third-year nutrition student on the dietetics track. I am interested in social determinants of health and how those factors impact attitudes about and around nutrition and nutrition care. Outside of academia I love to cook, workout, and read. After undergrad I intend to apply for a combined masters/dietetic internship program in further pursuance of becoming a registered dietitian. 

Fun Fact: I was a competitive gymnast for 8 years.

Hi! My name is Isabella Moore, and I’m from The Woodlands, Texas. I am a third-year Human Biology Major, pursuing a certification in Spanish for Medical Professions. My research and academic interests focus on maternal healthcare, especially improving outcomes for high-risk populations. After graduating from UT, I hope to pursue a career in medicine focused on expanding access to quality healthcare for women.

Fun fact: I played basketball throughout high school!

Hi, my name is Chinaecherem Ozonnaike, and I’m from Dallas, TX! I am currently a third-year Public Health major with academic interests in global health and interventions that promote equity in healthcare. I also enjoy volunteering with kids to help them learn about science and build healthy habits. After graduating from UT, I plan to attend medical school and later serve my community as a physician!

Hi! My name is Risha Rao. I am from Dallas, Texas and am a Public Health major. My interests in research include public health and nutrition research! After I graduate from UT, I’d love to go to medical school while also pursuing another degree (MPH or PhD) and would love to still be involved in an activity surrounding the issue of global health.

Fun Fact: I love to dance and am a co-choreographer for the Reggaeton Dance Club at UT!

My name is Clara Sanchez and I’m from Moraga, California. I am a second-year nutrition major interested in how incorporating nutrition deeper into clinical care is the foundation for preventative medicine. My goal is to become a physician who uses a holistic, whole-body approach to comprehensive patient care!

My name is Camille Smith, and I am from Houston, TX. I am a fourth-year Pre-med Nutritional Science major at UT Austin, pursuing a Certificate in Spanish for Medical Professionals. My interests are in general and infant nutrition, improving nutrition education among physicians, and promoting bilingualism in healthcare. After graduation, I plan to attend medical school and continue serving underserved communities through compassionate, culturally informed healthcare.

Hello! My name is Meenakshi and I’m from Dallas, TX. I’m a junior nutritional sciences major interested in nutrition across the lifespan, especially focused on women, infants, and adolescents. I’m also very passionate about the integration of nutrition in medicine as I am pursuing medical school, with aspirations to become a pediatrician.

Fun Fact: I have an irrational fear of birds!

Hi! I’m Manal Zuberi, and I’m from Prosper, Texas. I’m majoring in Neuroscience with a Business minor. I’m especially interested in research at the intersection of brain health and innovation. Outside of school, I enjoy cooking, playing pool, and gaming. After graduating from UT, I hope to attend medical school and become a physician.

Fun fact: I love cats and my family got a cat right after I moved out – still a little mad about that.

**Preference is given to individuals that can commit to volunteering 10 hours per week to the lab for two semesters, have or plan to take NTR 315, can write and speak Spanish, and/or have experience in nutrition assessment.
