Lecturer/Assistant Instructional Professor, Russian Language and Culture, University of Florida

The Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures at the University of Florida (www.languages.ufl.edu), College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications for the position of Lecturer/Assistant Instructional Professor in Russian Language and Culture, to begin August 15, 2026. This is a full-time, renewable, nine-month, non-tenure accruing position.

The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and the compensation includes a full benefits package.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to a robust program in Foreign Languages and Literatures by performing the following duties: 1) teach three (3) undergraduate language classes per semester at the beginning and intermediate levels (other language levels if necessary); 2) contribute to the development and growth of the Russian Studies program, including through study abroad, language-related extracurricular activities, and potential online course development; and 3) provide service to the Russian Studies program, the department, and the university.

Requirements: M.A. degree in Russian, Russian Language Pedagogy, Russian Linguistics, or related field. Native or near-native proficiency in Russian and English with experience teaching Russian language at the college/university level.

Preferred: PhD degree in Russian language and culture or related field.  US college/university-level teaching experience.
