We invite applications for the ASEEES Internship Grant Program: www.aseees.org/programs/aseees-internship-grant-program

This program provides MA, PhD, and professional school students and recent graduates with grants that make it possible for them to accept unpaid or underpaid internships in areas directly related to Russian studies. The program promotes the entry of young scholars with considerable Russian studies expertise into sectors outside of traditional academia. These internships must be in the US and should be substantial in duration and responsibilities, lasting two months for summer internships and four months for internships during a semester in the regular academic year. The grant offers $2,000 a month, to be paid directly to the grantee during their internship.

If your students are looking for an exciting, fulfilling and rewarding internship / volunteer / study abroad experience in Russia, our program is the best option! Please be sure to inform your students of these unique opportunities that are not to be missed.

Our summer internship is offered for two weeks or four weeks from June 27th until July 25th at the children’s camp in the picturesque Altai Mountain region. If your student is interested in a more extended stay we can offer a summer internship that would comprise of the camp program and a Russian course in the city of Novosibirsk on completion of the camp. Further details of such extended internship can be discussed.

The Monterey Trialogue Initiative Fellowship Program

The Monterey Trialogue Initiative is a new trilateral program that hopes to engage young scholars and established experts from the USA, Europe, China, and Russia to find collective solutions to global crises. We are now inviting applications for the Monterey Trialogue Initiative Fellowship from PhD candidates working in the fields of IR, politics, or area studies with a focus on relations and cultural exchange between Russia, China, and the ‘West’. Applications close on February 20, 2022 and the eligibility criteria and required documents are available on our website (link below). The fellowship comprises five modules, all centered around Virtual Reality experiences, roundtables with leading experts, and simulations and negotiations task forces. It will take place online except for an in-person, all expenses paid trip to Vienna at the end of the course.

Requirements:

* Superb English writing skills (native English).
* Ability to write succinctly, quippily, and knowledgeably about Russian culture (with little or no need for style editor intervention).

* Excellent online search, fact-checking, and news survey skills.
* Excellent sense of humor and a taste for offbeat, under-the-radar news.

The JDC Archives is pleased to announce that it is accepting applications for its 2022 fellowship program. In 2022, 6-7 fellowships will be awarded to senior scholars, postdoctoral researchers, graduate students, and independent researchers to conduct research in the JDC Archives, either in New York or in Jerusalem. Research topics in the fields of twentieth century Jewish history, modern history, social welfare, migration, and humanitarian assistance will be considered, as well as other areas of academic research covered in the JDC archival collections. The Russian, East European, and Eurasian Center and the Slavic Reference Service at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign are pleased to announce a call for applications to the Spring 2022 Open Research Laboratory (ORL) Program. The program will take place January 18 – May 4, 2022. Funded in part by the U.S. Department of State’s Title VIII Program, the ORL Program provides research support for graduate and post-graduate level research on Central and East Europe and the Independent States of the former Soviet Union.

We will provide support for both in-person and virtual associateships for scholars to conduct short-term research concerning all aspects of Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies.
