Seminar: Upcoming Research and Language Learning Series Talk- Uyghur

Good afternoon and warm greetings from the Slavic Reference Service at the University of Illinois. Please join us on Wednesday, May 3rd, at 3:00 pm Central Time for the last Research and Language Learning talk of the year, featuring Dr. Darren Byler of Simon Fraser University. His talk is entitled, Reading the Backstreets in Urumchi: Translation as Ethnographic Method in Northwest China. Professor Byler will discuss his experiences learning Uyghur and incorporating his language skills in his research. This series aims to provide students and faculty with space to reflect on the ways the language learning and research processes are interconnected. All are welcome to join.
