About The Language Flagship Program

The Language Flagship is an initiative within the National Security Education Program (NSEP), a program designed to build American expertise in languages and cultures critical to U.S. national security. As an NSEP initiative, The Language Flagship seeks to change the way that languages are taught in order to create the next generation of global professionals with superior proficiency in the languages and cultures of other countries.

The Language Flagship is comprised of a multi-year domestic program at a U.S. based institution followed by a Capstone year spent living, working, and studying in the target language.
