Work You’ll Do

As a Project Delivery PROJECT – Senior Consultant, Strategy, Growth, and Transformation on the project, you will:

  • Conducts all-source analytic production using public, private, U.S. Government, and foreign open-source information in accordance with established security protocols
  • Analyzes domestic and foreign publicly available information to identify trends, patterns, and relationships that support defense and cyber intelligence requirements
  • Prepares in-depth analysis of tactics, techniques, procedures, and malware used by advanced persistent threat actors
  • Researches, assesses, and analyzes raw and finished intelligence products to support intelligence analysis in the cyber domain
  • Disseminates analysis and findings using established intelligence systems and databases
  • Applies knowledge of the intelligence cycle and relevant Department of Defense publications supporting intelligence operations
  • Monitors intelligence reporting to ensure mission requirements are met
  • Evaluates reporting and provides feedback through established systems and processes
  • Identifies intelligence gaps and submits standing and ad hoc collection requirements to address them
  • Produces at least one intelligence assessment per week

Acad. Job: Postdoctoral Researcher, Soviet Union’s Home Front during WWII

The European Research Council Advanced Grant “The Global War on Civilians, 1905-1945” seeks a Postdoctoral researcher on the Soviet Union’s home front and the war on Soviet civilians in the Second World War. The project is hosted by the Centre d’Histoire of Sciences Po in Paris, France.

We investigate how the transnational circulation of knowledge and practices culminated by World War II in systematic attacks on civilians and the creation of home fronts that mobilized civilians. The Principal Investigator is Prof. Sheldon Garon.

The Postdoctoral Researcher will research the following topics:The Soviet Union’s construction of a “home front” during the interwar era and war years—involving the mobilization of civilian women and men for food provision, civil defense against aerial bombardment, war production, and maintaining “morale.”The role of “transnational learning” and foreign models in the making of the Soviet home front.Nazi Germany’s war on Soviet civilians, combining aerial bombardment, artillery attacks, and blockades of the civilian food supply. Notable were Germany’s Hunger Plan and campaigns to blockade and starve Soviet cities in Leningrad, Kiev, Kharkiv, and elsewhere.The mass organization of civil defense (passive defense) against aerial bombardment.

CALL FOR PAPERS

Concept and Rationale

This conference proposes to approach the experience of exile in the twentieth century through the lens of the body. The body is understood here as a point of intersection between the material conditions of existence, the institutional mechanisms that frame migration, and the cultural forms through which exile is lived and represented. This perspective seeks to complement approaches that have primarily examined exile through the lenses of memory, identity, cultural circulation, and intellectual transfer.

Graduate Student Opportunity: International Symposium at the Icon Museum and Study Center

The Icon Museum and Study Center, together with the Mary Jaharis Center, invites 2 graduate students of any level to submit a one-page letter of interest to attend the international symposium Encountering the Sacred Image: Highlights from the Icon Museum and Study Center held Oct. 15-16, 2027, in conjunction with the exhibition opening Light from the East: Masterpieces from the Ikonen-Museum Recklinghausen.
Successful applicants will be invited to attend the two-day symposium, as well as the exclusive opening of the exhibition, and will receive a reimbursement for travel and lodging up to $1,000.

The editors of Contemporary European History have established this prize with the aim of encouraging, recognizing and promoting high-quality research among postgraduate and early career scholars.

The winner’s prize will consist of:

  • Publication of the winning submission in Contemporary European History
  • £400 worth of CUP books

Other entries of quality may be invited to publish their submissions in the journal.
