Assistant or Associate Professor in Holocaust Studies (Carnegie Mellon University)

Carnegie Mellon University’s Department of History seeks to appoint a tenure-track scholar as the inaugural Askwith Family Assistant or Associate Professor in Holocaust Studies. We invite applications from historians of the Holocaust who can teach courses in Jewish history and the history of the regions or thematic topics they study. PhD required by the date of appointment (July, 2024). The successful candidate will teach both graduate and undergraduate students in their areas of specialty on a 2/2 semester course load.

The candidate must receive the Ph.D. by July 1, 2024.

3. A diversity statement of no more than 500 words that summarizes potential contributions to the diversity of our department and university communities
4. A writing sample of no more than 50 pages

For applicants who advance beyond the initial review, we will also request three letters of recommendation, the doctoral dissertation, and sample syllabi from courses taught.
