CFP: AATSEEL 2026 Conference

Deadline: (varies) May 15, July 1, August 1, 2025

The General Call for Proposals, Call for Panel Stream Topics and Application for Research Lab Participants for the AATSEEL 2026 conference, which will be held in-person in New Orleans, LA on February 19-22, 2026, are now open and currently accepting submissions.

The AATSEEL annual meeting is a forum for scholarly exchange of ideas in all areas of Slavic and East/Central European languages, literatures, linguistics, cultures, and pedagogy. The Program Committee invites scholars in these and related areas to form panels around specific topics, organize roundtable discussions, propose forums on instructional materials, and/or submit proposals for individual presentations for the 2025 conference. The conference regularly includes panels in linguistics, pedagogy, second language acquisition, literatures, and cultures relevant to the organization’s regions of focus.

To submit a general panel/paper/roundtable proposal (by July 1, 2025 or August 15, 2025):

Call for Panel Stream Topics
The AATSEEL Program Committee invites proposals for panel stream topics. These streams promote greater cohesion among conference panels and foster a broader dialogue throughout the conference. The result can be a series of mini-conferences within the framework of our larger conference.

Stream topics will be selected by June 1, 2025. All individual abstracts related to streams will need to be submitted by the first CFP deadline, July 1, 2025.

To submit a stream topic proposal (by May 15, 2025):

New for AATSEEL 2026: Conference Research Labs
The AATSEEL Conference Research Laboratories aim to provide a space where participants can share developing research, receive and provide substantive feedback to colleagues, and generate new avenues of scholarship. Participants in the labs gain experience in networking, writing, editing, and organizing and leadership. Lab topics are broad enough to encourage interdisciplinary work, along with a mix of critical methods and perspectives. The three-hour labs are held during the AATSEEL Conference on Friday and Saturday mornings. Applications must be submitted by May 31, 2025.

Notification of acceptance of abstracts will be sent only to AATSEEL members in good standing. Memberships expire June 30th each year. Those submitting abstracts are encouraged to renew membership when submitting an abstract to avoid delays in appearing in the online conference program.

We recommend consulting the 2026 Conference Guidelines (https://www.aatseel.org/program/conference_guidelines/) to prepare any submission for review for the conference.
