Western Colorado University invites applications for a one-year Lecturer position in History beginning in August 2021. The History Program at Western Colorado University is part of the Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences. The Program has 2 full-time faculty members and approximately 45 Majors and three tracts: Standard History major, Secondary Licensure, and Public History. We are looking for innovative forward thinking faculty to help modernize our History program offerings.
 
Duties:

General area of specialization is European but second fields outside of US, Africa and Latin America are of interest especially experience or specialization in Digital History. Teaching load is 24 semester credits per academic year (4 courses per semester) and involves academic advising, assisting with the History League, program recruitment and the development of Digital History projects and/or course. There is also the opportunity to develop and deliver innovative courses in their area of expertise. This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of renewal based upon strong performance and funding availability.

The School of Modern Languages at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for a Lecturer of Russian, beginning August 1, 2021. The position is full-time with an expected teaching load of 12 credit hours per semester (24 per academic year). We seek candidates with a commitment to and demonstrated experience with innovative teaching and curriculum development in content-based and cross-cultural language studies in a STEM-driven environment. Interest or experience in teaching in an immersive faculty-led study-abroad program oriented toward business, technology, culture, and sustainability is highly recommended. Lectureship and Basic Language Program Coordinator — University of Illinois at Chicago

The Department of Polish, Russian & Lithuanian Studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago invites applications for the position of Visiting Lecturer and Coordinator of the Basic Language Program in Polish and Russian. 9-month appointment, renewable on an annual basis. Start date August 16, 2021. The position will teach two language courses per semester, in either Polish or Russian language, at the intermediate or advanced level.  As BLP Coordinator, the Visiting Lecturer will work with, evaluate and modify the department’s existing, fully-developed curriculum of blended-format courses in Polish and Russian language at the beginning and intermediate levels. Responsibilities include orientation and supervision of graduate teaching assistants; student placement decisions; liaison with the Department Head and with BLP coordinators in the School of Literature, Cultural Studies and Linguistics; course scheduling; and coordination of the Polish and Russian language and film clubs.

Acad Job: Visiting Lecturer in Russian Studies (Bates College)

The Department of German and Russian Studies at Bates College, a private liberal arts college located in central Maine, invites applications for (2) two-year term visiting positions in Russian Studies to begin in Fall 2021. Candidates with demonstrated success in teaching underrepresented, first generation and marginalized students are encouraged to apply. Each position carries a four-course teaching load, including three courses in Russian language and one course in Russian history and culture taught in English. The positions entail teaching Russian language at all levels. The courses taught in English are expected to introduce undergraduates to key issues in Russian history and culture and contribute to the programs in European Studies, History and/or other disciplines. Preferred areas of specialization are the 20th and 21st centuries and a thematic focus on totalitarianism, ethnic and cultural diversity, or transregional connections (Eastern and Central Europe, Asia and Asia Minor, the Arctic, etc.).

Requirements

The general requirements for the postdoctoral fellowship positions are the following:

  • Candidates must hold a recent PhD in the field of Economics, Banking, Finance or related areas which was awarded over the last 5 years or received before starting work at HSE in a relevant field by an internationally recognized university;
  • Candidates should have a strong background in Economics, Econometrics, Banking, Finance or Household Finance, interest in applied empirical research in the mentioned fields accompanied by (a) clear research project proposal(s), as well as the ability to work in a team and on his/her own research projects,
  • Fluent English is an obligatory condition as research and other activities are conducted in English. Knowledge of Russian is not required;

Research should focus on Russian literature and culture of the long nineteenth century, with a concentration in one or more of the following areas: prose, drama, visual culture, or poetry.
