Job: Diplomatic Security Special Agents (U.S. Dept. of State)

The U.S. Department of State is currently accepting applications for Foreign Service Special Agent positions.

Diplomatic Security Special Agents are specially trained Foreign Service security professionals; they are also sworn Federal law enforcement officers. Special Agents who serve overseas as the Regional Security Officer advise ambassadors on all security matters and manage a complex range of security programs designed to protect personnel, facilities, and information. In the United States, Special Agents protect the Secretary of State and visiting foreign dignitaries, investigate passport and visa fraud, and conduct personnel security investigations.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, at least 20 years old to apply and at least 21 years old to be appointed. U.S.-Kazakhstan University Partnership Coaching Program

Call for Proposals FOR Partnership Grants

Purpose of Grants: Funded by the U.S. Embassy in Astana, Kazakhstan, five grants will be awarded to U.S. universities to establish partnerships between faculty and administrators at U.S. and Kazakhstani universities or advance current U.S. and Kazakhstani collaborations in higher education. Administered by American Councils for International Education, the grants will support direct travel, honoraria, materials, and conference fees for faculty or administrators in the U.S. and Kazakhstan. Grants are intended to support institutional capacity building, professional development for administrators, joint curriculum and co-curriculum, joint faculty research, student exchanges, and other new areas of collaboration. Academic Job: Rus Flagship Lecturer (UGA)

Flagship Program Lecturer in Russian

The Department of Germanic and Slavic Studies and the Russian Flagship Center at the University of Georgia invite applications for the position of Russian Flagship Program Lecturer. The successful candidate will teach a 3/3 load of intensive, proficiency-oriented undergraduate Russian language courses at all levels. These courses may include individual and small-group Russian language tutoring. Additional responsibilities will include assisting the Flagship Program Directors with the development of the Russian Flagship curriculum and with Russian proficiency assessments.

Job: Flagship Coordinator (Uni. of Georgia)

Responsibilities include program administration and coordination, student support, and instructional activities. Assistant Professor of Russian (Language, Literature and Culture) 

The University of Rochester Department of Modern Languages and Cultures (http://www.sas.rochester.edu/mlc/) invites applications for a tenure track position as Assistant Professor in Russian (language, literature and culture). They are seeking a candidate with a strong research program, dedication to the undergraduate teaching of Russian language, literature, and culture and the ability to lead our four-week summer language program in St. Petersburg. Teaching load is two courses per semester (4 courses/year) for undergraduates and graduate students in humanities disciplines across the college. Applicants must have a Ph. D., native or near-native command of Russian and English, and experience teaching language at all levels. While the area of specialization is open, candidates with expertise in post-Soviet and contemporary Russian literature, cinema and culture are particularly welcome.

Faculty in MLC also have the opportunity to contribute to the University’s strong interdisciplinary programs in Literary Translation Studies, Film and Media Studies, the Graduate Program in Visual and Cultural Studies and the Susan B.
