Travel: Journalism/Field Research Summer Internship (Voronezh, Russia)

Deadline for Applications: March 15, 2019

Journalism / field research — summer internship in Russia
A Crossroads Eurasia program

This program is about exploring Russia at street-level. A local expert introduces students to field research and guides them through the process, focusing each student’s work on a theme of their choice. At the end, students write a newspaper-style article based on their findings. A language tutor helps those who choose to write in Russian, and strong Russian-language work is published in Downtown.ru, a popular Voronezh newspaper.

Timing: 4-weeks (July) and can be combined with other Crossroads Eurasia internships (e.g. teaching or translation) for a maximum stay of 3 months
Russian proficiency: At least 4 semesters of Russian or equivalent (or heritage speaker)
Past experience: None required.
Deadline to apply: March 15, 2019
