We are currently recruiting Russian-proficient research analyst interns for a paid internship opportunity in our Los Angeles office this fall. One Post-doctoral Research Fellowship within Linguistics (Cognitive Linguistics: Empirical Approaches to Russian) is available in the Department of Language and Culture at the University of Tromsø – The Arctic University of Norway (UiT). The position is affiliated with the CLEAR research group, Cognitive Linguistics: Empirical Approaches to Russian.

The appointment is a fixed term position for a period of three years.

The Post-doctoral Research Fellowship aims to qualify the researcher for work in senior academic positions. A candidate may not be appointed to more than one fixed term position as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the same institution.

Armenian School of Languages and Cultures – ASPIRANTUM https://aspirantum.com is looking for an experienced teacher of Russian to teach at ASPIRANTUM’s Russian language winter school from December 2 till December 22, 2018 in Yerevan, Armenia.

So far ASPIRANTUM has successfully organized Armenian and Persian languages schools for international students. In winter 2018 ASPIRANTUM is also adding Georgian and Russian language courses and currently we are searching a devoted Russian language teacher for our school.

We are looking for teachers in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia. For accepted teacher from the Russian Federation the travel and accomodation costs in Yerevan will be covered by ASPIRANTUM. Salary of the selected teacher will be negotiated personally and will be enough competitive.

The prospective teacher should have native competence of Russian language and at least 5 years experience of Teaching Russian to foreign students. We value the academic background of our teachers so the ideal candidate will have an MA, PhD or similar degree in linguistics or related fields with an extensive teaching and research experience in national and international universities and research centers.

The students of ASPIRANTUM Russian language courses will already have upper elementary and intermediate knowledge of Russian and are mainly students, researchers and professors who know English quite well, so ASPIRANTUM’s teacher of Russian language will also be fluent in English, and if necessary conduct the lessons in English.

The Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures invites applicants to fill a three-year, potentially renewable Assistant Professor position on the Academic General Faculty (tenure-ineligible) with an anticipated start date of December 25, 2018.

Subject areas of particular need include, but are not limited to: Slavic folklore, film, cultures, and literatures, and Polish language. Compensation will take the form of full-time salary with full-time benefits. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. at the time of application or be on track to receive a Ph.D. in the relevant field by December 1, 2018. Applicants must hold the terminal degree at the time of appointment.

Grad Program: PhD Program (Jagiellonian U.)

The PhD program in Politics, Culture, and Society in the Contemporary World is an interdisciplinary program organized by the Faculty of International and Political Studies (FIPS) at the Jagiellonian University. The teaching language of the program is English, though both Polish and international students are welcomed to apply.

The duration of the program is 4 years with the annual fee of 4200 EUR,  and the successful graduates will be awarded with a PhD title in the social sciences and humanities.

The program consists of three main modules:

1) obligatory and elective courses;
2) academic skills courses;
3) teaching skills courses; as well as an obligatory foreign language course.

Depending on the chosen research track followed by PhD candidates, they will be qualified to conduct research in political science or cultural studies. The graduates are also able to successfully perform teaching activities and are familiar with ways to gain financial resources to fund their research. They are prepared to take up a professional career in academia, as analysts in the public sector, think-tanks, research institutes and NGOs.

The Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia – Tajikistan invites energetic and motivated graduate and undergraduate students to apply for our international internship program in Dushanbe.

Our internship program offers foreigners the chance to acquaint themselves with development work in Central Asia, a rapidly changing region comprising five separate countries. Participants gain experience in project implementation, research, and project evaluation. The program includes possible working trips to project sites. Previous participants have gone on to become major scholars in Central Asian studies and work for institutions like the UN and State Department. We accept interns at any time of the year, and are relatively flexible regarding the length of the internship.

Requirements:

  • He/she must express a deep interest in Central Asia and Tajikistan; as well as concerning the work of international organizations.
  • Proficiency in writing English; knowledge of Russian or Tajik is a plus.
