The University of Connecticut (UConn) is pleased to invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the Department of Educational Psychology in the Neag School of Education.

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will work with the Co-Director of the National Technical Assistance Center on Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (Center on PBIS) and the UConn PBIS team to support measurement, evaluation, and research activities (e.g., instrument development and validation, evaluation of technical assistance and PBIS implementation). In this role, the postdoctoral research associate will also have access to large datasets and may be able to propose and lead their own research aligned with grant priorities.

Acad. Job: Director of Slovak Studies Program (Univ. of Pittsburgh)

The Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for the position of Director of the Slovak Studies Program, pending budgetary approval. The appointment will be made at the rank of Lecturer and will begin on September 1, 2022. Duties include: (i) teaching beginning, intermediate, and advanced Slovak language, as well as Slovak or Slovak-comparative literature and culture in English at the undergraduate level; (ii) non-teaching duties include oversight of Slovak cultural and outreach activities in accordance with programming goals identified by the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures; (iii) scholarly publication and active participation in national professional associations is encouraged but is not a prerequisite for appointment or renewal.

Position Description
The Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures plans to appoint a tenure-track or tenured professor in Ukrainian literature and culture. The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2022. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, typically two courses per semester (including freshman seminars, survey courses, and advanced seminars). We are seeking an energetic colleague committed to building our program in Ukrainian studies, introducing undergraduates to the study of this part of the world, advising advanced work with graduate students, and connecting Ukrainian studies to other disciplines and regions in creative ways. We expect the candidate to share in the Department’s administrative and advising duties as well as participating broadly in the academic culture of the university. Demonstrated strong commitment to teaching and innovative scholarship is imperative.

Byrnes Russian and East European Institute (https://reei.indiana.edu/) at Indiana University, Bloomington, invite applications for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor to begin in the fall of 2022. We seek an individual who specializes in any period from feudal to the Russian Revolution. The successful candidate will demonstrate a vibrant program of research that complements existing faculty expertise. Desired areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, tsarism, serfdom, labor, agriculture, war and empire, borderlands and nationalisms, religion and state, culture and cultural production, social and historical memory, ethnicity, environment and regional studies, urban evolution, medicine, law, rights, social movements, visual and digital humanities. The successful candidate will teach four courses per year, across the Department of History and the Institute, at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Global Center is a US Department of Education Title VI National Resource Center (NRC) and a Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) fellowship program. The Global Center is making a systematic, sustained effort to infuse interdisciplinary global perspectives into learning at all levels, from pre-kindergarten through graduate school and beyond.

The Associate Director will have the opportunity to plan, direct, and implement a wide range of scholarly and outreach programming. The AD collaborates with center staff, on-campus units, and off-campus community organizations to promote global competencies and language learning. The AD helps administer program and grant budgets.
