Academic Job: Language Workshop Associate Director (Indiana University)

The Indiana University Summer Language Workshop, within the School of Global and International Studies, seeks applicants for the administrative position of Associate Director. This full-time position is integral to the day-to-day functions of the Workshop and requires a Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in academic or non-profit administration.

The associate director oversees student facing day-to-day operations of the Summer Language Workshop in compliance with Indiana University and federal policies and procedures. Takes primary responsibility for execution and oversight of grant activities and reporting; coordinates academic and outreach programming; and serves as primary supervisor of office support staff, graduate assistants, seasonal-hire instructors, and interns. Oversees Workshop business and financial processes; monitors accounts and budget tracking processes; develops plans for optimal use of [base and discretionary] budgets. Takes primary responsibility for supervising the Center’s strategic communications, including web and social media activity, as well as development outreach to alumni. Advises the Director about issues of strategy and policy; identifies opportunities for the development of intramural and extramural funding streams and advises the Director on findings. Oversees all student-facing functions of the workshop.
