This class will meet on the Texas State University campus during the 2018 summer semester and will include a required fourteen-day field trip to study at the U.S. National Archives and Library of Congress.

Fourteen-day field trip to the U.S. National Archives and the Library of Congress: June 10 – 24, 2018

Pre-trip Orientation Meetings will take place on the Texas State campus in San Marcos.

What You Will Learn
After an orientation on Texas State University campus during the 2018 summer semester, the course offers fourteen-day field trip to Washington DC for undergraduate and graduate students seeking to carry out original research among the unique documents at the U.S. National Archives and Library of Congress.

Accommodation is in College Park, Maryland, with transportation service provided to the Archives I and II facilities in Washington, D.C. College Park is also home to the University of Maryland’s flagship campus, ensuring that university services (dormitory housing, cafeteria services, medical facilities) are available away from home. During the program, students will have access to the University of Maryland’s outstanding McKeldin Library, as well as the Library of Congress.

Admission is selective, and space is limited.

Program Fee: $1,345

Program fee covers lodging (including WiFi and linens), breakfast and dinner, transportation to and from airport, and transportation to and from National Archives each day.

A free shuttle for researchers connects Archives II, in College Park MD, and the Library of Congress, in downtown DC.

Important Note: Personal expenses and airfare are not included in the Program Fee.
