Acad. Job: Visiting Asst. Prof. (Miami)

Miami University’s German, Russian, Asian, Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures Department is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor to teach a full load of courses, including Russian language, literature, and culture courses in English (possibly including folklore and film) at all levels; advise students. Renewable for second year based on need, successful performance and continued funding.

Required:

  • PhD (appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor) or M.A. (for appointment as Instructor) in Slavic languages and literatures or closely related field;
  • Demonstrated teaching excellence;
  • Native or near-native fluency in both Russian and English;
  • Areas of specialization open.

Instructor position (non-PhD) is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.
Consideration will be given to candidates with teaching experience at the college level in the
U.S.
